long time no blog

It has been forever!!!  I have missed making time for blogging. I have missed blogging.
A lot has happened in the past year.
Most of all, we have grown a lot. All of us.  We are doing really well!
With all of the shinanigans going on in this house I thought maybe is was time again to share.
This way you can all laugh with me, or at me... which ever one it is at the moment.
I have learned to let go of lost of stress. I have learned to have fun with my kids.
I have learned which fights to fight.
I have a lot more to learn.
We are in a good place :)

These pics are from a number of months ago.

Marlee..
Marlee Marlee Marlee.. what do I say?  She is a HANDFUL!!! She is so caring and funny and smart. She is sassy and independent and feisty.
Yesterday I had to take her to the ER because she drank 1/4 bottle of cough medicine. She apologized and told me all day how much she loves me :)
Last week while I was doing the dishes and cleaning up down stairs Marlee took out her vaseline and balmex and smeared it ALL over her room. Her entire body, hair, carpet, curtains, furniture, windows. I am still working on getting the vaseline out of the carpet. ugh.
A few weeks ago, she treated herself to a huge bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream for breakfast.  I was impressed that she was so capable but geez.
She loves to read books and do "homework".
She is currently in dance class and loving it.
She just finished up soccer.
She can swim on her own.
She always sneaks into our room at night.
She refuses to wear dresses or bows.
She has her own style.
She loves her cowgirl boots.
we love her so much.

My Sweet Noah.
He has been known to give me fits but he is a very special little boy.  He has a temper but he loves with everything he has and tells me that he "loves mommy, 56,72,98,46,55,11,13,50,39" and that means A LOT!!!! I can trust Noah with jobs and most rules. He is mindful of saftey and of Marlees breaking the rules. He is good at sharing, most of the time.  He is a gentle little guy even though he is rough and tough. He is a fast runner and has learned to ride his bike with no training wheels. He was very proud of himself!!!   He begs me to dress him and tie his shoes. He is not so independent. He is afraid of the dark and has a wild imagination.  He LOVES to fish and talks about it constantly and has made a number of fishing poles to fish in the bath tub or the back yard. He recently convinced me to get his first nerf gun because he wants it "55,79, 36, 29, 55, 100" which means A LOT!!!!
He thrives on positive reinforcements and feels bad when he doesn't do well in something.  He enjoyed soccer this year even though all of the other years he quit and said that he hated it.
He is rough with his sister but very protective of her and often tells her if someone is mean to her that he will beat them up.
He is in Pre K at Easton.
He is writing his name now.
He wants to be a redneck when he grows up. Kind of already is.
He loves to bake.
He loves to work.
He is the best helper around.
He loves having fires in the back yard or in the fireplace.
He is not a morning person.

Chuck and I are doing great too. He is still working harder than anyone I know and is an amazing husband and father.  We would be lost without him!!!
I am still working on my photography business and hoping a perfect position comes up for me. Still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
We got a puppy, Choptank.

He was 8 weeks when we brought him home. He was 12 weeks when he was attacked by a big dog and his eye was too injured to save.  He lost his eye.  He is adjusting very well. He has no idea that he only has one eye:)

We still have our chickens. But last summer we lost our favorite one, Puffy. She became very ill:(  We learned all about heaven and death.  We buried our loved Puffy in the back yard. We still talk about how silly and kind she was. We miss her.

Gussy is still the best cat ever and the fattest cat ever.
He is handling the puppy very well.

hiking adventure

Last Monday was such a beautiful Autumn day that we just HAD to get out of the house and do something fun!
We decided on a hiking adventure at Pickering Creek. It is so nice there! Even the drive there is so peaceful and beautiful with all of the fields and beautiful homes. That day was perfection. The weather, the clouds, the temperature...LOVE!!!

Doing some "tracking" here. I think we found some turtle tracks! (not really though:)

Marlee and her harmonica that she carried all through the woods and at times would play it for us :)

Nuny tracking stuff and being silly!

We thought this was a cool nail in the tree. lol

while I was looking at it and taking a picture Noah decided he wanted to take a picture of us.. he really is a good photographer :)

some "poky trees"

a little Lee on top of a tree stump :)

a tree with a whole in it.. maybe something lives in there!!

Berries that bears eat and other animals.

There were LOTS of acorns that were either broken already or chewed up..

and we think that this feather came from an Osprey.. I have no idea.

We happen to be there at the exact time that the turtles were being fed so we helped!!!

even got to touch some!!

We thought it was sooooo funny that he was eating from a plate and eating lots of stuff that we would eat with veggies and fruits!

It was an amazing day with me and my babies!!! It is so nice to be able to be present and really enjoy this autumn day!  I absolutley LOVE these kids and they are so smart, silly, adventurous, funny and amazing!
Being able to listen to the corn blow in the wind while we have a peaceful picnic on a dirt road was a dream come true!
Can not wait to go back and hopefully Chuck will be able to join us next time!
