I took her into the pediatrician today because she had a fever over the weekend and she has been coughing up mucus. They checked her ears and breathing, she STILL has an ear infection! Even after FOUR antibiotics!!! Her breathing was not good so they gave her a Nebulizer treatment right there.
The doctor that saw her had to go speak with another doctor about another antibiotic. This antibiotic came in a shot form and it was in the same family as the omnicef (sp?) that gave her a rash. They decided that it had to be done so she got a shot today too:( The shot becoming her FIFTH antibiotic round!!!!! She will need to get another shot tomorrow and another one possibly on Wednesday. And apparently, this shot is more painful than the regular vaccines. We stayed at the doctors office for a half hour after getting the shot to make sure she didn't get any allergic reaction, which she did not. Thankfully!!! They sent us home with a nebulizer! We are going to be in the doctors office all week. We are waiting to hear from the ENT about getting her seen ASAP! I suspect that she will be getting her tubes within the next couple of weeks. It is pretty clear to us that is the next step.
We wish so much that we could take all her pain away!! It actually might be harder on us than it is on her! Here are some pics of her today after some tylenol and some much needed food. You would never know!
